Cloud Research Lab

The Cloud Research Lab is part of the Department of Computer Science at the Hochschule Furtwangen University, Germany. We are currently doing research in the following topics: Cloud Computing, Cloud Security, Virtualization, Cluster Computing, Web Services, and Desktop Grid.

We are active in collaboration with companies, such as Thomson and Scalaris AG in developing future concepts and prototypes, e.g Windows Desktop Grid and Intelligent Document Processing as Software as a Service. Furthermore, we are doing research in the area of security and privacy in cloud computing. We are leading the BMBF project Security Audit as a Service (SAaaS), in which we are collaborating with our partners SCHUTZWERK GmbH and Toaster.NET GmbH.

We are member of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).

	Security Guideline on Denial of Service attacks published. In collaboration with the Police department Villingen-Schwenningen and SCHUTZWERK GmbH the Faculty of Informatik publishes Security Guidelines to help companies in case of an internet attack.
	Best Paper Award for publication Sicherheitsprobleme für IT Outsourcing basierend auf Cloud Computing received.
	Studi-Cloud 1st OpenSource release at SourceForge.
	SAaaS - Cloud Research Lab starts the project "Security Audit as a Service (SAaaS). It is a two year project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education (BMBF) aiming to increase trust and transparency in cloud computing.
	Studi-Cloud - an easy to use Private Cloud launched for all HFU members in May 2011.
